JUSTICE SEEKERS || Interview with Sharon Stapel

Sharon Stapel

WWIA Sharon Stapel 494x675-001

We interviewed Sharon Stapel during her role as the Executive Director of the New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP), an organization for which we hold tremendous respect and regard. In a time when news reports of assault and violence targeted at the LGBT community seem to be at an all-time high, AVP works tirelessly to raise awareness about public safety and the resources available for victims to get help. They also work with law enforcement and the medical community to bring everyone on board about issues affecting minority communities. We are currently seeking social media volunteers to help us to run fundraising campaigns for AVP.

In our interview, Sharon discusses her career path to becoming a justice seeker and a leader… suggested first steps for someone curious about making a career change as a justice seeker… why there seems to be a rise in hate crimes against the LGBT community… warnings signs any woman should heed in order to avoid violence at home, in the workplace or in public… and much more. Watch now! Please note that as of Summer 2015 there is a new Executive Director Beverly Tillery.
